This voyage provides a tremendous range of experiences suitable for history buffs, photographers, and lovers of nature. It starts in the jewel of the Adriatic -- Dubrovnik, where we board a 36-passenger yacht ms Emanuel -- our home for nine nights. During Emanuel's sail, the ship's crew will treat you to video of the region with historical content -- an excellent means of getting the most of the guided tours arranged at each port of call. In keeping with the renowned hospitality of the Croats, you will be treated to Klapa music (traditional Croatian music) on board as well as dance music during and after the Captain's Dinner. DAY 1: DEPART TORONTO (July 12)

DAY 2: DUBROVNIK -- EMBARKATION (July 13)
Walls of Dubrovnik
“Those who seek paradise on earth”, George Bernard Show once wrote, “should come to Dubrovnik”. On arrival you will be greeted by the breathtaking sight of
Dubrovnik. The stunning city is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A guide will meet you at the airport and transport you to the ship MS Emanuel.
With just 18 cabins, Emanuel is the perfect size for
visiting the small ports and coastal towns of the Adriatic.

DAY 3: DUBROVNIK (July 14)
After breakfast, small local boat will take us on a
panoramic view of these majestic ancient walls before heading to the nearby
island of Lokrum, where we will enjoy a tour of the famous Lokrum botanical
gardens.
After the lunch we explore Dubrovnik – Old town.
Lord Byron famously described the city as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic’. A
magnificent medieval wall encloses marble streets and baroque buildings that
exude a pearly light in the Adriatic sun. The main pedestrian thoroughfare,
Placa, is full of cafés and shops, and has outstanding monuments at either end.
Churches, monasteries and museums are decorated with finely carved stone ornaments underlying an
eventful history and a vibrant artistic tradition. We return to Emanuel at
6.30PM for dinner on board.

DAY
4: DUBROVNIK – MLJET – KORCULA (July 15)
Korcula (Marco Polo's birthplace)
Early this morning we set sail for National Park Mljet and
by mid-morning we arrive at the island of Mljet.
We enjoy a delightful walk to the two lakes, a stunningly
beautiful part of the island. In fact, no less than half of the island is
designated a National Park. This lushly forested paradise also attracted such
residents as Ulysses and St Paul!
Mid-afternoon we set sail for Korcula. One of the greenest
islands in the Adriatic with numerous tiny and secluded bays, Korcula is rich
in art and culture. It is a typical medieval walled Dalmatian town, with its
cluster of red rooftops and round defensive towers. It is also reputed to be
the birthplace of the great explorer, Marco Polo, in 1254. Upon arrival
commence a 1½ hour walking tour of Korcula town.

DAY 5: KORCULA – VELA LUKA (July 16)
Vela Luka
This morning we depart Korcula for Vela Luka which is
situated on the western side of the island in a large bay dotted with many tiny
islets and surrounded by tranquil inlets.
The town, which is the 2nd largest settlement on the
Adriatic islands is an oasis of Dalmatian and Mediterranean influences: mild
climate, unpolluted sea and air, olive groves and fig trees.
Later in the afternoon we will dock in Vela Luka where we
will visit local an olive oil mill and archaeological museum.

DAY 6: VELA LUKA – BISEVO – VIS ISLAND (July 17)
Bisevo (Blue Cave)
This morning we head to the amazing Bisevo Caves (or Blue
Grotto), named because of the glowing blue light that appears at certain times
of the day.
By midday we arrive in Vis. A British base during World War
II, the island was closed to tourism from1945 and reopened in 1990 coincident with Croatia's declaration of independence. Vis today is largely unspoiled by mass
tourism. It was from this island that Marshall Tito directed his partisans from
a secret cave where he worked and slept. We have the chance to view these
living quarters during our stay here.

DAY 7: VIS – HVAR ISLAND (July 18)
Hvar overlooked from Town Spire
Today we arrive at the island of Hvar, recently voted one of
the world's 10 most beautiful islands. "I know paradise now I know
Hvar", goes a local saying. The island is known as the Croatian Madeira
and has lush vegetation and a mild climate. A walk along the waterfront
promenade and through the Old Town reveals a wealth of medieval and Renaissance
buildings.

DAY 8: HVAR – BOL (ZLATNI RAT) – PUCISCA (July 19)
Pucisca
After breakfast we sail to the town Bol situated on the
island of Brac where we will visit one of the most beautiful beaches on the
Adriatic coast, known as Zlatni Rat or Golden Cape.
We will disembark at Bol where there will be an opportunity
to explore or take a mini train to the famous beach for a swim. After lunch we
set sail for the town of Pucisca on the north-east side of the island of Brac.
Pucisca is famed for its white stone that has been used for
centuries in the building of palaces and cathedrals throughout the world and
more notably the White house in USA. We will visit a masonry school in the
afternoon.

DAY 9: PUCISCA – OMIS (July 20)
This morning we set sail for the small town of Omis.
Following a walking tour of the city, you can tour the fabulous Cetina canyon in a local boat for a fee, or visit the historical
pirates tower Mirabela or chill out on the beautiful on Omis’ sandy beach. Return to Emanuel in time for the Captain's Dinner tonight at 7:00 PM.

Tonight we have the Captain's Dinner; accompanied by live dance music on board; this continues after dinner for your dancing and listening pleasure.

DAY 10: SPLIT AND DISEMBARKATION (July 21)
Split
After breakfast on board Emanuel, we disembark by 9:00 AM and transfer to our hotel. After check-in we leave for our guided walking tour of Split. Split is the second largest city in Croatia and a UNESCO World Heritage site. The huge and sprawling palace by the Emperor Diocletian, built for his retirement at the end of the third century AD, is well conserved and still in use today. The palace renders insights of the style and customs of life at Diocletian's time, not to mention the architectural prowess required to conceive of and erect such a structure. After the tour, you are free to explore the city on your own and enjoy the friendliness of Croat joie-de-vivre. Have lunch at one of the many local restaurants, savour pastry at cafés, or shop at boutiques and arts-&-crafts stores. Dinner is at our hotel tonight.

Accommodation: Hotel Park (one night) (B,D) DAY 11: SALONA - TROGIR – BIHAC (July 22) Salona was a stronghold and a harbour of the pre-Roman Dalmatia. (Earlier it was under the influence of the Greeks.) Julius Caesar gave it the rank of a colony (Colonia Martia Julia Salona) - in the province of Illyricum which later became the province of Dalmatia. It developed into a cosmopolitan centre of the Adriatic. Trogir is an open air museum town. Since 1997 the historic core has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Once ruled by the ancient Greeks, Romans and the Venetians, it is a happy city with a waterfront promenade, beaches, narrow streets providing serendipitous experiences and in short, delightful.

Lunch will be served in the old town of Trogir, on an inlet of Kastel Bay.
After lunch we will continue our drive to the town of Bihac in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bihac is situated on the beautiful river Una, and is within 40 minutes driving distance from Plitvice Lakes. This charming Bosnian town attracts many tourists due to its natural beauty and cultural heritage reflecting Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian influences. At Bihac, we check in to the four-star HOTEL KOSTELSKI BUK, or its equivalent, where we will have dinner and time to enjoy the surrounds before retiring. DAY 12: BIHAC – PLITVICE LAKES – OPATIJA (July 23) After breakfast and check-out from our hotel, we travel towards Continental Croatia for a visit to Plitvice lakes, the most popular National park in Croatia. Our tour involves some walking and comfortable shoes are a must today. We will travel along sixteen crystal - blue lakes cascading into 92 spectacular waterfalls. Walk the wooden promenades with magnificent views of the lakes where every turn leads to a breathtaking scenery and yet another waterfall.
Plitvice Lakes
Surrounded by dense woods, Plitvice lakes are a natural phenomenon of rare and unique beauty. We will stop for a snack at Licka Kuca restaurant and gift shop (within the park). In the evening hours we will arrive in Opatija Riviera. In 1889, Opatija was officially declared the first resort on the Adriatic Sea catering to the aristocrats of Europe. Today, many years later, Opatija, like a beautiful lady, enjoys her riches and fullness of life. Opatija’s villas and hotels are of exceptional architectural value, surrounded as it is by the evergreen Učka mountain, healing sea and beautifully arranged parks.. After a day of hiking and breathing cool mountain air we will check in to the four-star Grand Hotel 4 Opatijska Cvijeta (or equivalent) where we will stay for two nights. * Make sure to wear comfortable shoes today. DAY 13: ISTRIA TOUR (July 24) Istria is a unique and remarkable area that brings Central and Western Europe to the warm sea. Some compare it to Tuscany, yet Istria has two faces: classical and aristocratic on the coast and medieval, mysterious and romantic inland.
Pula
Pula will surprise you. This bustling city, once a major naval harbour of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy has some of the finest Roman monuments in Europe. The best preserved amphitheatre in the world is from the 1st century. This magnificent building was used for gladiator contests accommodating up to 23,000 spectators. The Augustus Temple situated on the Forum is a jewel; built at the time of Augustus it represents the finest early imperial temple architecture. The Triumphal Arch of Sergi is one of the most beautifully decorated arches that remain from the Roman period. In the past Pula was a home to some famous artists and writers such as James Joyce who was teaching English in this town at the age of 23. We will arrive by coach at St. Peter in the Woods for a traditional Istrian farmhouse lunch and folklore performance. The performers will be dressed in regional costumes, dancing and playing local instruments. Some of us may be moved to join the dance.
Motovun -- hilltop town
Motovun will be our next stop on the tour. This hilltop town with a magnificent view of the surrounding hills and river valleys will enchant you with its medieval ambiance. Since Motovun is widely known as a town of truffles, wines and olive oil you will find numerous sampling places as well as various jewelry and handicraft shops, all located within the original 13th century town walls. ... and if you have a good appetite, you may not be even interested in having dinner tonight but it will still be served in the hotel upon our return. Enjoy the bustling summer night in Opatija, stroll its exciting promenade or just relax in our hotel`s piano bar or welness oasis. DAY 14: OPATIJA – POSTOJNA – LJUBLJANA (July 25)
Postnojna cave
After checking out of our hotel, plan for the start of a super day at Postojna Cave. The Postojna Cave is an extraordinary complex of 20 kilometers of tunnels filled with stalactites, galleries and halls, into which experienced guides have led more than 31 milion visitors over the past 185 years. This is the biggest and the most visited cave in Europe. It is the only cave in the world operating a cave train to help you admire the immensity and the powerful allure of the underground world. The constant temperature in the cave is about 10°C.
Predjama Castle
A few kilometres from the entrance to Postojna cave stands Predjama Castle - one of the most picturesque buildings in all Slovenia. The castle hangs dramatically in the middle of a 123-meter cliff – a four storey structure almost arrogant in its simplicity, but unconquered and uncompromising. Although the current building dates from the end of the 16th century, a castle has stood on the present-day site since the year 1201. Lunch will be served in Postojna before we continue our drive to Ljubljana, Slovenia`s capital.
18th Century Ljubljana
Ljubljana has the feeling of a relaxed, sleepy old town clustered around a castle-topped mountain and is often compared to Salzburg. It is an opt comparison, but only if you add some breezy Adriatic culture, throw in Slavic accent, and substitute Mozart with local architect Joze Plecnik. Ljubljana`s biggest attraction is its ambiance. The Ljubljanica river, lined with cafés, pubs, vendors, music, restaurants and a buzzing outdoor market, divides the city in half. Upon arrival in Ljubljana we will tour the city with a local guide. Most sights are on a short walk from the river, which is crossed by several interesting bridges. (Tip for pronouncing Ljubljana: pronounce the "j" as though it is an "i" pronounced "Liubiana".) After checking into our hotel -- the HOTEL GRAND UNION BUSINESS, the rest of the evening is free for you to take in the night spots and shopping in this beautiful city -- once the playground of the Hapsburgs. Overnight stay in our centrally located hotel that has a lovely indoor pool, and the breakfast is great.

DAY 15: LJUBLJANA – BLED – BOHINJ – LJUBLJANA (July 26)

Less than an hour away from Ljubljana is the bucolic setting of Lake Bled. Bled is Slovenia`s leading mountain resort which comes complete with a sweeping alpine panorama, fairy-tale island, cliff hanging medieval castle, lakeside promenade, and the country`s most sought-after desserts. We will not leave Bled without a trip to the island reachable by charming pletna boats – or if you`re game, a brisk swim. Superstitious locals (and every tour guide in town) claim that ringing the church bell on the island will make your dreams come true. Give it a ring and you will find yourself on an enchanting island in the middle of a stunning alpine lake. While at Bled we will visit the Vintgar gorge, the one of the most popular features in Slovenia. Along the narrow passage, where the Radovna river thrashes loudly against its rocky confines, there are paths, galleries and bridges constructed in the rock. After enjoying our lunch we will take a drive to the nearby Bohinj Lake for an orientation visit and then back to Ljubljana. Have a free evening in Ljubljana and enjoy our farewell supper at your hotel.

DAY 16: LJUBLJANA -- RETURN HOME (July 27) After enjoying breakfast, with your tickets and passports organized, all packing done, any extras paid, and fond farewells said, we will leave for Ljubljana airport where we will board our flight home. Gratuities – Guidelines
It is standard practice to tip the local tour guides, the
escort guide (Split to Ljubljana) and the drivers of the motor coach. Tipping
guidelines are as follows:
The fare includes pre-paid gratuities to the ship’s crew and cruise director. Additional tipping to individuals is at your discretion.
The fare does not include tipping to the local guides as this is on an individual guide basis.

Escort Guide: Fourteen (14) Euros (roughly USD 20) per person; this is at the rate of Eur 2 per day per person.

PAYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The per person fare for this all-inclusive cruise tour (two lunches are omitted) is based on double occupancy rates as follows: Lower deck on Emanuel: CAD 6,800; 2,125 cruise only. Upper deck on Emanuel: CAD 6,950; 2,275 cruise only. For single occupancy, a surcharge of CAD 1,350 applies. A deposit of CAD 2,100 is required at time of booking; CAD 700 cruise only. This deposit is refundable up to February 13, 2012 after which date it becomes 100% non-refundable. Final payment is due no later than May 11, 2012. Payments by Visa, MasterCard and personal cheques are accepted.
For passengers who want to make their own air arrangements, an air credit amount of $1,600 is available. Transfers will not be provided, but can be purchased separately. NOTE: Single accommodation prices are available on request.
CANCELLATION FEES:
Prior to February 13, 2012: No cancellation fee. After February 13, before May 29, 2012: 100% of deposit amount. Prior to June 20, 2012, after May 28, 2012: 50% of cruise tour fare Prior to sailing date, after June 20, 2012: 100% of cruise tour fare.
A handling fee of $100 per transaction will be charged for any alterations or revisions made to a reservation after initial confirmation. Spelling corrections to clients’ names after tickets have been issued will be subject to airline revision fees.

About MS Emanuel
MS Emanuel -- 36 passengers
The Emanuel has a crew of seven. They are all of Croatian
nationality and English speaking. The ship has been recently refurbished and boasts
many amenities. The ship is ideal for sailing the Dalmatian; it is able to
access the many ports and inlets enroute providing guests with an upfront view
of one this planet’s most intriguing coastlines with its crystal-clear waters.
All cabins are fully air conditioned and conveniently
designed with modern private ensuites. They are equipped with double or
twin-sized beds, furniture, a safety deposit box, a TV set and fire-alarms.
Electricity runs at 220V. While on board there will be video presentations shown in the lounge and in the cabins on the history and culture of the towns within the itinerary.
Cabin Specifications
MS Emanuel has eighteen cabins in all, ten on the upper deck
(Category A cabins) and eight on the lower deck (Category B cabins). They are
all configured for double occupancy.
Six cabins have twin beds; three on the upper deck, and
